With the help of Greenflow, we can incorporate disciplined waste diversion practices into each job, reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill and finding ways to reuse, recycle, or upcycle materials whenever possible. For example, restoration debris materials such as drywall and wood can be upcycled into particleboard, while other waste materials can be converted into energy through a high-tech process that includes burning, gas separation, scrubbing, or heating.
In Ontario alone, the construction industry creates about 14.2 million tonnes of waste, and currently only about 12 percent of construction waste is being diverted from landfill. Our program aims to shift those percentages by providing a sort and divert methodology, ensuring that as much waste as possible is recycled, upcycled, or diverted away from landfills.
