Experts In Eco-friendly Restoration

We are rebuilding toward a sustainable future.

At Hudson Restoration, sustainability is not a marketing initiative — it is an operational framework.

Disaster restoration has historically been waste-heavy and energy-intensive. We have made it our mission to challenge that model and lead the industry toward measurable environmental accountability.

Our #RestoreResponsibly Philosophy

We look at our operations, initiatives, people, partnerships and processes through the lens of how can continually do better. We call it  #RestoreResponsibly.

🌍 Our Climate Commitment

Net-Zero by 2050

Hudson Restoration has joined the Net-Zero Challenge, committing to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

This commitment is backed by:

  • Ongoing carbon accounting

  • Measurable reduction targets

  • Operational electrification strategies

  • Continuous emissions tracking

Our Biggest Contributors
Our carbon accounting efforts have shown us that our fleet and waste diversion are the two biggest emittors of GHG gasses for our company.

Carbon Accounting & Reduction Planning

Hudson was formerly Climate Smart Certified through BMO’s Radicle program, where we completed detailed carbon footprint analysis and built structured emissions reduction plans.

As the program transitioned, we continued our carbon reduction journey through CarbonHound, ensuring our emissions tracking and reduction efforts remain active and measurable.

We believe restoration companies must measure impact before they can meaningfully reduce it.

Carbon accounting doesn’t have to be complicated.  Our partner Carbonhound has made it effortless to stay on top of our carbon footprint.

♻️ Waste Diversion & Circular Restoration

Restoration traditionally sends significant material to landfill. We have built a system to change that.

EcoClaim Certified

Hudson is EcoClaim Certified, allowing us to track and divert multiple waste streams from every site.

Our process includes:

  • On-site separation and bagging of materials

  • Transport back to our facility

  • Sorting and weighing at our in-house transfer station

  • Tracking diversion metrics

Since implementing this system, we have mitigated nearly 80% of our waste compared to prior practices.

This means:

  • Less landfill contribution

  • Better resource recovery

  • Measurable environmental improvement

Waste Diverted
from Landfill

Only about 12 per cent of construction waste is being diverted from landfill on average.

🏗 Sustainable Rebuild Leadership

We need to get serious about constructing and reconstructing our homes using sustainable materials and practices if we want to get a handle on embodied carbon.

Hudson is the only restoration contractor in Ontario offering structured eco-friendly rebuild options.

Our President, Nick Hudson, serves on the Board of Built Green, reinforcing our leadership in sustainable construction practices.

Through this governance involvement, we:

  • Offer low-emission product alternatives

  • Recommend energy-efficient rebuilding strategies

  • Support sustainable material selection

  • Align reconstruction efforts with green building standards

When rebuilding after loss, clients have options — not just replacements.

🚛 Fleet Electrification

We are actively electrifying our fleet at a rate of approximately two vehicles per year, with the goal of operating a fully electric fleet by 2030.

By reducing transportation emissions — one of the largest contributors to operational carbon — we are lowering the environmental impact of every claim we service.

TREES AND COUNTING!

🌳 10 Trees for Every Claim

Through our partnership with OneTreePlanted, Hudson plants 10 trees for every claim received.

This initiative contributes to:

  • Global reforestation efforts

  • Carbon sequestration

  • Biodiversity support

  • Community-level environmental restoration

Every loss we respond to also contributes to long-term environmental recovery.

We are Restoring Lives®

It’s not enough to just be a profitable business. It’s important to remember that people make a company, and not the other way around. We work to ensure our Team’s mental health and work-life balance is supported. In addition, we are #restoringlives abroad, working with Live Different to help families in less fortunate living arrangements across the globe.

Collaboration with Live Different and the creation of donation-funded trips for staff to help rebuild impoverished communities.
Birthday’s off, tree planting days, user-friendly software, support and training, company golf day, bring your dog to work, fitness incentives and other team programs designed to support our efforts and alleviate our stresses.
Paid Staff outings to volunteer at local shelters or long-term care homes providing food or care where needed.
Quarterly donations to a new team member’s charity of choice.
Collaborating with Habitat for Humanity and redirecting materials for reuse.
